Students’ Voice

The main aim of the students’ council, better known as Students’ Voice is to listen to students and represent their views. It also serves as a necessary link between students and teachers. It is about improving the school atmosphere and the learning environment. Students’ Voice gives training to members to help them achieve their aims in the best interests of the students. Elections for each year group from Year 5 to Form 5 are held every two years. Students can also present themselves for elections in two’s, with a common programme. Candidates have time to run a campaign in en effort to convince students of what they stand for. Students are then invited to vote for their preferred choices. Of late, the main focus of Students’ Voice has been the inculcation of a political orientation that looks at real issues within the school and the possibility of seeking solutions through the planning and implementation of a plan of action.
